Will Soft Washing alone clean these pavers?

This lady said it gets too expensive when her guys come out and power wash the sand out and then refill it with sand and seal it. She's tried several different things over the years even bleach but cant ever get them clean. She has a big pool area behind her house that's all pavers. The sand between the pavers is black.  Will softwashing alone 3-4% bleach and green wash mix work? and if it does do you rinse or leave it sit?

Chris,

I have limited experience with pavers but it will clean them without a doubt. The issue I find is protecting the grass around the pavers as I usually want to rinse. I wouldn't want the client to come home during a rain and track some residual SH into their home. When in doubt do a test sample. Mix a 16 oz batch and ask the client if it is okay to try an inconspicuous area first. I would try a 2, 3, and 4% sample about the size of your fist. Also using Terra Wash and Green Wash 50/50. Hope that helps.

I would've given her a price right there. It should clean. We usually spray a 2% mix. We sometimes use a deck bush if there is moss or if it gets slippery, then we only rinse if it is under a covered area or right in front of entrance. The rain shoulld rinse everything. If unsure use a garden hose to rinse a couple of pavers, and that is what it will look like after a few rains. Just advise them there will be some brown along the edges, but it comes back quick. See if they used a polymeric sand between the pavers. If it is loose sand you can offer to resand with polymeric and it will last longer. Its real easy work. You really don't need to seal except maybe around a patio area where there might be concerns about grease/foods staining the pavers.

This will definitely clean up easily. One way to help sell this is that that the softwashing will last longer. Also, I would definitely try and sell her on sealer. It will keep the surface drier, further helping to inhibit growth of organisms. Sealants like Seal N Lock also enhance color and make the pavers "pop."

Ok thank you for all of your advice!!  What's an average price to charge just to clean the pavers?
