I met the maintenance director of Mt Hood Legacy hospital at a Gresham Chamber of Commerce event about a year and a half ago. About a year ago, he had us bid some flatwork, and we got beat up on price a bit, but I acquiesced to get my foot in the door. He was very happy with our work. I told him that he shouldn't pressure wash his building, but rather SoftWash it. I followed up with him afterward time to time, but could never really reach him.
Today, however, I got a phone call from him. "Are you up for a challenge?" he said. "Our fiscal year ends March 31st, so I need our hospital cleaned, invoiced and paid out by the 31st. So it will have to be completed by the 25th."
I jumped in my truck, met him on site 30 minutes later, sent over the proposal about two hours later, and he cut me a PO for the full amount an hour after that. Looks like I'll be busy next week and half!
Oh and I have 2 apartment complexes also scheduled next week. AC when does my new skid get here!!
Hospitals and health systems are in my top best types of customers, along with colleges, universities, and school districts. Don't work too fast, LOTS of people will be seeing your trucks and your work while you are doing this job!
