Bleach Wash and Windows

I am really having a hard time accepting the idea of putting cheater wax or a wax of any kind on windows.

I hate trying to clean hydrophobic glass with deionized water, give me hydrophyllic glass, anytime!

Can I just rinse the glass with the hose half of the "Y" then rinse the rest of the siding with Bleach Wash after softwashing?

How did you clean the glass before there was Bleach Wash?

In this case you may be over thinking things slightly (I'm guilty of overthinking anything and everything)!
Just use the bleach wash on windows and they will be at least as clean as they were before you got there (more so if you take a couple additional steps). There is never any wax or other kind of residue left behind from the bleach wash. All you get is awesome sudsing and cleaning action.

Before bleach was we just wet the windows down throughout the whole process, now we have far fewer callbacks for things like spotted windows.

Hey Vic -

We had the same problem in the beginning of the season. After about 3 houses I said ‘ Forget this ‘ and I bought a water fed pole system from J Racenstein and we sold window cleaning with every roof and home cleaning that we did. It turned out to be a great feature for us.

Bleach wash is one of my favorite SWS products. Just spray it on and then rinse it off and it will take care of any SH residue or spotting.
The next level would be to spray the bleach wash on, brush the window with a loaf brush, rinse it off with your garden hose and then use a leaf blower to dry it so it is spot free. This additional would be an upcharge of course.
Or you could rinse the bleach wash off the window using DI water and it will be a spot free cleaning.

Michael I never had to many issues with spotting on windows either, but found that employees won't be perfect and we would rather add the extra steps of bleach washing windows and fertilizing and buffering the plants using plant wash will just make everything go smoother. We expect the best out of our guys but no one is perfect.

Rinse and maybe blow dry with a blower. I like blow drying.

I agree with you on all points. Are you still using sh? That was one of the main reasons I'm not switching to ch

Yes we are, its just tough switching after having a certain system and method down pat. Although I am entertaining a 50/50 with SH and CH.

Aloha Vic,

We just rinse with water, you shouldn't be leaving your mix on long enough to dry up anyways.  Let me clarify we spray the windows with water first, then we hit with the mix and then we rinse everything at the same time. Just don't let the mix dry on windows. It works for us and we have never had any issues or call backs.

incase bleach residue is left on the window, how would you remove it?

by bleach wash, are you referring to final wash?

We use final wash after we are done with the job. If a spot was missed and we go back a later, we might use a soft brush with final wash to agitate. It usually works.
