I would get the new reel.

Get a new reel. See if there was insurance on the shipment that will pay for it, if the shipper bought it.

I'd get a new reel as well. $250 will only buy you so much chemical...

Once you go to re-sell it when you're ready to upgrade, it will be worth at least $250 less with a re-welded handle and bent reel.

And if the welds don't hold up - you'll probably buy a new reel down the road for $400.

It was a once used floor model, and it was 20% off.

The guy who shipped it should have pulled the reel off before shipping.

I don't know what his big hurry was.

Steve has always been really fair with me.

If I really needed to, I'm sure I could return the unit, but if the handle will hold up, I'd prefer to just keep it.

I don't know the exact amounts, but I think I save about $500 if I keep it, and they save a lot of freight charges...

Now if the handle will just hold up :)

Has anyone had weld problems before that we should hear about?

I didn't pay shipping or handling, and when you throw that into the mix, I really did get a good deal, and want to keep it.

It does look like we can probably just replace the handle.

I don't know which Titan Reel is used on the Twin Pump system, but if it is a 5400, we are in business ;) (see attached Adobe file, part #15).

Vic I know you can definitely get a new handle from your distributor. Call them and make a deal for a new one and some credit towards the green wash and bleach wash. As far as the disc goes they are a pain to get on and off so I would just try and bend that back.

Lastly just because your reel is bent dosent mean people are going to hire you or think your unprofessional. I would take care of the handle before using it. Also make sure you rinse it out and run some bleach wash in there after every use and keep an eye on the manifold inside where they have the T welded on( it always leaks eventually).

I would weld it, yes it will hold up longer, if the welder is good, and take the 250$.

Aloha Vic, I have the same set up as you do. I spent the last twenty plus years as a welder and I would definitely weld it up and take the credit. Even an amateur welder could weld that up for you and it will be fine. I guarantee that thing took a serious blow to bend and break that weld and once its fixed and bolted in the truck you shouldn't have to worry about those incidents. Thats a good score I love my twin pumps, just make sure you have a back up pump and two back up pressure switches for the pumps as they tend to go out if the pump is left on for to long without cycling. Call Paul at the Power Wash Store he's a really good guy and very helpful. He designed an agitation system for me to run CH for under $100 and it works like a champ. 

I weld for a living, besides softwashing ( ironworker) get it rewelded it shouldn't costmore than $30 bucks at a good weld shop if there not feeling generous to tig weld it back to new. That reel is stainless and will hold up for a lifetime re-welded ,...
