I have been asked to give a quote for a commercial brick building, the window trim has lead based paint that looks intact, I could not see any loose paint that could come off with our softwash. The building is not painted, but after I wash it, the plan is to have the brick painted.
You need to be RRP certified and need to give notice of possible lead on pre 1978 structures, where you may disturb 20 square feet of lead based paint. Poly must be placed 10 feet out from the structure for each floor, (i.e. 20 feet for a 2 story) to capture the chips. The EPA and their fines are no joke. Funny thing is a homeowner can disturb an entire house and do no prep or containment.
I will be working for a painting company that has all the lead paint certs, They are looking at us doing it because of the softwash way we do the cleaning instead of the pressure washer way they do it. They believe that there will be no loose paint chips to come off.
