Do you have to rinse vinyl fencing?
I am pricing a vinyl fencing job. The project is a pasture and is in two locations. The first I counted 897 sections. The other is probably twice as many. There is no way to run a water hose around this.
As a general rule of thumb you want to rinse everything except for roofs and concrete (maybe a couple other things). If the fence you are bidding on isn't much worse than this one above then you could get away without rinsing.
If it is worse you might need to agitate the surface and rinse, and what ever time you have figured to do it.... double that. If the undersides of the rails are dirty it will be time consuming.
The one we did was a mile long and it took my 2 guys 2 days. We had to scrub a lot of it and we needed to rinse as well, it was also at a horse ranch so we had to deal with that aspect as well.
Thanks Zach. Seems like every job takes longer than I plan. I looked at the other section today and most of it is grown up in weeds and will be hard to get to. I would say that most of the fence is in the same condition as this one. With this being my first fence, pricing is going to be a nightmare.
We have a vinyl fence booked for tomm morning....it raps around a villa complex with 32 single story duplexes. If i dont have access to water i dont do it....im not towing a water trailer around just to rinse.
i typically price fence like that anywhere from $1.25-2.00 per section, per side. rinsing is really needed to get the dead algae and dirt off. We actually did 150', both sides, today with a roof and hOuse cleaning we did. It goes fast, but we rinse.
The few vinyl fences I have done, have all really popped!
They were as bad if not a little worse on some sections as the one shown above. The Home owners couldn’t get over the difference which led to more work at the houses. I used the augmenting mix at 1.5-2%, with a nice bleach wash rinse. The biggest problem was getting the spider webs and small cocoons off, but with a quick soft brush and water jet nozzle, they flew off. It did take longer than I thought it would.
Good luck!

buy a couple 300 gallon totes about $100 each, put garden hose adaper at bottom, rent a uhaul, use either belt drive pressure washer or buy booster pump to rinse
