Chemicals in East Texas

Hello All!

My name is Randal Motley. I have been a Detailer for many years. I have kicked around the idea of washing houses a few times over the years and have finally decided that I want in. I have a 1 ton box van equipped with a 500 gallon water tank, a 35 gallon soap tank, a 5.5 HP pressure washer, a 13 HP pressure, a 12 volt delavan 7 gpm 60 psi pump. I have been set up this way to be able to achieve the utmost flexibility.  My insurance is through J.D. Walters and my policy does provide coverage for buildings up to 2 stories.

What I need help with is finding an SH supplier that will not financially ruin me as Univar tried to do yesterday by asking $9.20 per gallon of 12.5%. I live in Marshall Texas which is about 35 miles from Shreveport Louisiana.  Any help in locating a supplier would be greatly appreciated.

I have washed 2 houses now and this is just very exciting to me and look forward to learning and growing with the rest of you. I have been reading in the forums for a couple of months now and it's just awesome, as I love chemicals. I wish I would have had some terra wash on this house I just did monday, as it had a textured, cement exterior and covered with mold, moss and pine tree sap and took a lot to get clean. I had green wash, but just read up on the terra wash yesterday, plus the job came up suddenly so I didn't have time to wait for the terra wash anyway.

AC, I will be working on getting my pictures and signature as soon as possible. I am looking forward to meeting and talking and sharing with you all.

Welcome to SoftWash Systems Community, Randal. I'm in Va. and Univar drives 4 hours to deliver to me for $2.13 per gal.

I know that Univar has opened several new distribution facilities around the country, so I'm having some problems understanding their price to you.

I assure you that others will chime in and offer more opinions and options. Keep us posted and best of luck in your new venture!

Randal,

give me a call later today and I will give you the regional sales manager for Univar MinI Bulk. She will be able to get you to the correct person in Texas, for barrels or bulk deliveries.

Randal, try pool supply companies if Univar lets you down. $9 per gallon is absolutely unbelievable. We are one of the highest areas in the US, because not too many people have pools up in rainy NW. However our prices are at least half what they quoted you.

John's connection should be able to help figure out what is going on.

Thanks you guys. I scored a sweet deal yesterday !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Brenntag is practically in my backyard, well, actually the next town over, but only 30 miles away, and I can buy 1 drum at a time of 12.5% at $1.70 per gallon !!! So I'm going to be paying about $100.00 for a drum. And they will set up a bulk tank for me when I get to the point of needing more, and I'll get an even better price. I actually had another chemical company quote me over $13.00 per gallon of 10% I don't know who could or would afford that. Thanks for all the help and suggestions, I appreciate it all.
