Hey all, wondering if anyone can help me with this: a client's driveway and fence are speckled with sap from a large Torrey Pine in the neighbor's yard. The tree is currently being removed (very sad, but necessary), and now the homeowner would like to get the driveway and fence cleared of all the sap.
As for the driveway, can this sap be removed with SoftWash alone? Or will a pressure washer be needed? Or even a hot water pw? What approach/steps should I take?
And the painted wood fence? Most of the sap on the fence is along the top rail, not much on the sides.
Pine sap is difficult. It can seap into the drive like oil. It can be removed on the surface with a stain still penetraited within. Some pressure will be needed i am sure. Mineral spirits may break it up and then follow with Terra Wash to break down the oils from the mineral spirits. Let us know how it goes.
Hopefully someone else can chime in too with some other ideas, but it sounds like I'll be doing some small test patches with different approaches, hoping one of them will work.
