most of it looks correct except for the SH. You would only need around 5-6 gallons and then bump your water up a little. It depends on how strong your SH is. Whether to use 5 or 6 gallons but that is not a big deal.

Sam,

Yes, What AC listed would be a 3% mix.

The 6 gallons of 10-12% SH in 30 gallons of mix would give you 2% mix.

For CH you use 1 ounce per gallon per 1% mix, so 30 ounces would give you 1% mix in 30 gallons total.

This would give you a combined sum of 3%. Add in your 30 oz. GW of course.

The difference in 10 and 12.5% SH and the different strengths of CH won't make enough of a mathematical difference to worry about.

just be careful if you do not have an agitation system in your tank. You will need to thoroughly mix the CH.

Yes by volume not by weight. We dont carry scales on our trucks....:) We carry graduated liquid measuring pictures.

For what it's worth, I was doing the same thing. I just pulled out my CH and my scale and a fluid measuring cup - 16 fluid ounces of CH and 16 ounces of CH on a scale are close to the same measurement. 16 fluid ounces of CH = 18.5 ounces of CH on a scale. So if you were going by the scale weight your mix was a little weaker than what you thought it was by about 13%. So if you thought you had a 3.5% mix, it was just a touch over a 3% mix.

However, AC's mixology uses 65% CH, so if you are using 73% CH the little bit of extra strength in the CH balances it out almost perfectly,, less than 1% difference in what you thought you had anyway. So you may have been doing it wrong and right all at the same time! :0)

To increase your carrying capasity and prolong your cleaning day. DOT limits the carrying of SH to 119 gallons. It is in our classes.
