Is this mildew growing on my chimney?

Chimney full of mildew? Yellow, green and other gross colors growing on your exterior walls? Green growth on your pillars and window sills? Black growth on your brick? Strange growth growing on your fence and you just don't know where to turn?

South Louisiana is known for high humidity and if you mix the humidity with shade you tend to get things growing on your homes exterior that you don't necessarily want!

From yellow spots to green hairs to black splotches its all ugly and the best thing is to just get rid of it! Is it mold? Is it mildew? Is it a spill from uncle Billy drinking too much........?

No need to sweat out the details lets just kill it and be done!

Have no fear.....www.CajunSoftWash.com is here!

Mildew, algae, mold...who knows what in all in the green goop? But two things are certain 1) that growth will destroy your stucco exterior if left there, and 2) and unqualified cleaner using high pressure can cause thousands of dollars in damage and void manufacturers warranty if they clean that that styptic stucco improperly.

Great job on doing it the right way, Cajun Softwash!

Thanks Shaun,

As the owner of Roofwash Exteriors in Clare, Michigan you already know when cleaning any surface we need the right mix. This stucco was heavily covered with some unique colors and we considered a heavier mix for cleaning this Baton Rouge area chimney. In the end....you are spot on. We decided to go with a 2% mix and just add more surfactant to assist our mix in staying on the surface long enough to do its job.

The most interesting part was on a home we did just down the street. The homeowner tried using Jomax. After that didn't work they tried using 50/50 bleach and water. Then they moved on to straight bleach. They were successful in creating heavy streaks but not in actually cleaning their stucco. The homeowner only offered up this information after they asked what our mix consisted of. When I said our base was sodium hypochlorite "Bleach" they said it didn't work.

Hiring a professional is always the way to go and after the homeowner realized it she called Cajun Soft Wash to clean her homes exterior here in Southern Louisiana. While doing that job, this homeowner came over to admire the work of Cajun Soft Wash....and when we were done....we received a call for yet another referral!

I love our awesome Baton Rouge clients!

A special thanks to Spray Wash Exterior Cleaning, LLC. of Tallahassee for the compliments. As professionals we know who the true pro's are and to receive compliments from your peers is always a great feeling. Spray Wash is a premier exterior cleaning company in Tallahassee and a true honor to receive a compliment from.

www.CajunSoftWash.com also performed a free demo on a neighboring home. The home has a very unique clay cap system and they were concerned the clay would not come clean. We had to dial up to a 4% but the demo went great!
