Antique Tub - SH Reaction, please help!

We were cleaning a deck with a 1% SH and soap mixture. Customer asked the guys to spray her antique 150 year old bathtub in the yard and brighten it up. (They are turning it into a fountain). Got a panicked call from the crew. Mixture turned the enamel in the tub brown.  I need to make it white again. No amount of rinsing has helped. Ideas?

Worst case you can have it recoated, it's not too expensive. Hopefully someone has a better answer for you.

Cast iron tub?? I might just try some F9. Maybe it isn't a reaction to SH but what was left behind after the SH did it,s job and was rinsed. Wouldn't hurt.

Looks like rust. I'd try oxalic acid or F9. The Works toilet bowl cleaner would probably work as well.

Oxalic Acid may bring it back. I had a similar instance earlier this year on painted aluminum siding (turned brown) and oxalic did the trick.
