EPA Storm Water Control Act

I started a thread on the "Concord" site about the new EPA regulations, but this may be a better forum for this conversation.

The state of Va. is leaving it up to each city, town, etc. to become compliant with the new and drastic storm water runoff control. The city of Roanoke will be taxing property owners between $10.50-$11.00 per 500 sq. ft. of impermeable surface ( roofs, driveways, patios, etc.) per year.

I heard that Maryland was taxing on the total amount of rainfall that falls on any given property each year. Not sure how they can track that.

What I believe will be the BIG question in our industry is the use of SH in storm water runoff. Maybe AC knew something about this in advance, the reason for the new Concord System addition to the SW Cradle Skid System, which allows a more pure water and powdered bleach (CH) mix.

I feel, as a group, we should get educated on these new regulations and be at the forefront of this conversation as it moves forward. As professionals, our customers expect us to have the answers, and believe me, if they are paying additional taxes on this very issue, there will be questions.

We went to the EPA.gov website, but found NO info. on this subject. It seems you have to be a city administrator be current on the subject. AS I learn more in my area, I will share it.

What is anyone hearing in their state or city? Let's help one another on this and KNOW the letter of the law. I imagine there could be some stiff penalties for non-compliance.
