I've been wearing them for a few weeks now and I love them! They feel really good and stable to me. I haven't noticed any pad wear from SH. The pads are $15.00 a pair at the local roofing supply. I call them my spiderman shoes!

If i can speak on AC's behalf they are expensive and his method of soft washing you should be able to do most of it from the gutter line and peeks. therefor you wont need the cougar paws just use the rubber boots i guess. i buy them for all my employees most of the roofs up in ct have 10 and 12 pitch roofs i guess because the amount of snow we get in the winter. Florida has few pitched roofs from what i can see. we also walk every single roof we do to minimize over spray. Most of our costumers have very beautiful gardens with delicate flowers.

My guys switch the pads every 2 weeks depending on usage and they cost 16 a pair i think. the boots should last 3-5 months depending on usage

if you going to be walking around on roofs a lot i would recommend them but if your going to be spraying all from the gutter and ridge then its not really needed

Just to add to what Josh is saying...

I've investigated, and y'all may want to check out "Corkers". They seem that they would be a better solution for our industry. They strap on over your regular footwear so that you don't have to come down and walk all over the yard with them on (as you would with Cougar Paws) thereby reducing the life of the pads.

With Corkers you can simply put them on when you are getting ready to go up the ladder and take them off quickly when you come down. That way the pads are only exposed to the roof and a few rungs. Also, you will not have to replace expensive Cougar boots every 3-5 months.

Their TuffTrax"3-in-1" product comes with the metal roofing sole, but you have to purchase the composition sole separately for $19.99. Not a bad price, I understand they last a long time. Probably even better if you don't wear them around the yard & mud & concrete.

We have used these boots for over a year now and they are incredible, for even standing on soapy metal roofs.

The shoes that Garon is talking about are sold by Shoes for Crews here in the states. I use them all the time. Great traction on asphalt roofs
