Tyring to get a handle on chemical costs per job. Lets say I have 3000 sq ft with moderate staining on asphalt shingles with moderate pitch. How much mix would I be likely to go through?
Thanks!!

It all depends on how much you are paying for bleach. In florida we are paying .90 cents per gallon for 12.5% SH
The cost per gallon of roof cleaning strength finished gallon (mixed 4%) is around .99 cents. One gallon can easily clean 100 square feet. So a 3,000 square foot roof would run about $30.00 chemical cost. Now I also factor into this .99 a gallon the other chemicals you will need to perform the complete service like Plant Wash and Bleach Wash, not just the Bleach and Green Wash.
The further north you go the higher the cost of bleach and that should be factored in.
$.90/gal you're making me cry. The best I've found here so far is about $3.40/gal and they only have it in 2.5 gal jugs. That was from teh pool company in town that still sells SH. Looks like the other stopped carrying it. I have a friend that works for the local water company and I'm going to ask him about what they are using to disinfect may I can connect with their supplier if they are using SH.
Thanks!

We are paying $3.05 per gallon. However, when the delivery charge are added and the surcharges, it costs $3.54 per gallon.
While I would like a cheaper source, they tell me their way of making it is superior to others. ? I told our local Univar, when our volume goes up, we will come back to beat the up a bit more...
At any rate, that cost is not the big one when it comes to pricing your jobs. We have the benefit of being able to charge more in this market for our services so it washes out in the end.
