I just wanted to share a tip on Hose Management.
Do you guys ever get your hoses tangled and twisted together.
It is a pain to undo 200'-300' of hose. It also cost you money
when you have employees spending time at every job untangling
hoses. I have a "system" I use at every job.
I have 2 hose reels mounted on back of my truck so hoses can be pulled
from either side of my truck.
Hose reel 1 has 200' of 3/4" hose for rinsing
Hose reel 2 has 200' of 1/2" KuriTech Chemical hose
I have a loose 100' 3/4" hose I connect to my clients house back to the truck
to feed my 200' on a reel, and to fill my tank.
I pull hose from the reel closest to the home 1st, then I pull the second hose using the first reel as a guide.
I keep one hose on the "inside" and one hose on the "outside" to keep them separate. When I finish with the chem hose in the back
and the side of the home, I lay it out up front, then pull it to the other side of the home and lay it out again.
It takes all of 30 seconds to lay the hose out neatly.
I did not get pictures of all the hose layouts as I got into the work and forgot to keep taking pics of the hose, but
you will get the idea by what I have.
I always work in this order:
1- Far back corner of home from were I pulled the hose
2- Work down the side were the hose was pulled (Back to front of home)
3- Pull hose to the opposite side of home to back corner of were I started (Work Back to front)
4- Come across the front from far side to nearest side of were the truck is parked
This allows me to layout the hose and reel it up quickly.
How about you guys? Do you have a system that works for you?
