I was cleaning a shingle roof the other day doing some training on a new SoftWash Systems Cradel Skid System. It was a simple shingle roof cleaning so as always I opted just to use the powdered bleach.
As many of you know in order to get a solution of powdered bleach strong enough to clean a dirty shingle or tile roof you need to mix it strong which can leave a film on many surfaces. This often leaves a residue on skylights and roof vents.
This roof had both sky lights and roof vents. So there was some dust to deal with. I realized that it would be prudent to not just wate for rain but to actually rinse these items. I was thinking about dragging the heavy 3/4 inch garden hose onto the roof when BAM it hit me. Why not just hook up the garden hose to the multi-tap and allow the water to rinse the system and ten use the chem hose to rinse areas on the roof.
I had my son throw up our truck wash brush and I rinsed and agitated the sky lights completely removing the dust from the cleaning. The dust blends nicely into the agrigate of a shingle roof but not as well on sky lights. However the issue was easily solved with the ability to hook in the garden hose into a SoftWash Systems Cradel Skid System.
