I washed a roof yesterday for a guy that gets houses ready to sell for banks. I did it through a guy I have recently met. We''l call him Paul.
The contractor needed it ready for an inspection today. No problem right?
Thats where the "well" comes in. BAD MOSS!!! I agreed to get job done without seeing roof first. (BONEHEAD). Cleaned roof yesterday with plans to go back this morning to see if there was ANYTHING I could do to eliminate the moss before inspection.
Paul calls and says the paint is peeling off the house!!!!!!! Imagine my response to that!! I ask when the house was last painted. Turns out they painted the house yesterday before I got there to clean roof!! UNBELEIVABLE.
Fortunately the contractor was understanding and said he would send someone out to repaint.
One time i had a customer with very old white vinyl siding. Whatever roof mix got on it turned it orange nothing would take it off. I thought i was done for but i tried using some gutter wash product i keep in the truck and that worked. Very strange but i was about to have a heart attack.
Once enough of those things happen you will find that you have a list a important questions that you ask when you get those phone calls and you can't run right out to look at the job. I quote a ton over the phone because I still spend most of my time in the field and I can't always get to the house in a timely fashion. Granted I use a ton of technology to do those quotes from the field or at home late at night to try to eliminate as many potential problems as possible.
