Matching old deck stain to a new deck?

Alright guys here is what I have. I have a customer who just had new deck added on to their old deck. The old deck is stained a walnut color. They want the new deck to match the existing deck, but do not want a strip and seal. They would just like a clean and seal on both decks. I would not be so worried if the old deck was not butted right to the existing deck. I explained to the owners that there is going to be a slight variation due to the amount of stain and age of stain on existing deck compared to the new deck being stained for the first time. My question is / is there a way to get them to match more closely than what I have already explained to them or not? Any suggestions would be great. This deck is stained with wolman's stain. The original deck can not be stripped due to thenfact that they live in a townhouse complex and both neighbors will not sign a release and the owners would not feel comfortable asking them to sign one. They do not want any overspray or any material from the deck stripping to get onto the neighbors property that is why this is a clean and seal only. Thanks guys..Joe

Joe,

No your close to dead on. The other deck unless completely stripped to bare wood will not match the new deck closely enough. Call me if you need any more help.
