I am doing a certification for Plant & Property Protection and I need your best (or worst lol) plant and property damages pix. I will be using these as examples of what not to do so I wont be disclosing where the pix came from.
Please help me help this industry grow and evolve by sending me lots of pix of your worst screw-ups.
Funny you should mention this idea. My worst screw up happened just yesterday, June 25, 2011. I was softwashing this building, aiming at the top of the second floor. I had just begun on this wall. Suddenly I heard a BOOM right in front of me and was hurled to the ground. Somehow water had gotten into the meter and caused a short. It literally exploded into a ball of shrapnel, fire and electricity. If I had been a few feet closer to the box, or spraying chemical directly on to it, I would have either died or been seriously injured.
Electrician said is was a freak accident, he's never seen anything like this in 11 years.
Needless to say, this scared the CRAP out of me!!!!!!!
I don't have any pics of what I'm talking about AC, sorry. But, I bagged all the gutters on this job and waited till all the runoff was done. Now this small plant was directly in front of the downspout and after it rained the plant was dead. I told the homeowner before when he asked if the roof mix would kill his landscaping that I take extra care to ensure that there is no plant damage but, I can't guarantee that the plant directly in front of the downspout won't die after it rains. I don't want to have to tell homeowners this at all. You know, what if this was a mature expensive plant? So what could have been done to prevent this.

I have been doing electrical work for around 17yrs and have never seen something like that happen becuase of water, but i have seen panels get blown off the wall becuase of a phasing error. that is some of the most scariest thing you will ever see. When i say blown off the wall i mean 20 to 30 feet off. Atleast the meter socket stayed in place.
