Oxy Wash and Fiber Cement

I just completed a siding and roof cleaning job for a customer, and we were talking about his fiber cement siding.  It it 10 years old and has oxidized and chalked out, and quite a few areas of the house have fingerprints and rub marks left in the oxidization by another contractor.  He was thinking he might have to paint, but I offered to do a demo of oxidation restoration.

I have some experience with Oxi Wash, mostly doing gutters, doors, and a few other items, never fiber cement.  Obviously, I have not done the demo yet.  I have several questions;  First, will it work well?  Second, what would be the procedure?  Third, I know we don't discuss pricing on the forum, but some ideas on how much product and time per square foot would be great.

I am doing the demo next week, so I have a little time.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Sorry, I overlooked your question. This was a while ago now. I assume this is related to the other post about the oxidized siding. This fiber cement customer chose to paint the house instead. I talked to the husband initially, but I think the wife makes a lot of the decisions in the house. She wanted to paint, and I told her I thought this was a good choice. She mostly wanted a color change, but the other factor was the price. I think it would have worked well, but it would have been really expensive. Her money was better spent on painting. Fiber cement has a lot more texture than vinyl, and the paint, while super durable, is very thin. This was also a very large home, at least for this area. We did a standard SoftWashing, and she was very happy.

As for oxidation removal on vinyl, it still very time consuming. You have to scrub a good amount on every inch of the home, with a brush or rag directly in your hand or on a short pole. This means lots of ladder work and lots of time. I have only had one customer in the two years I started offering this take me up on it, and that was a small project.

In my opinion, for oxidation removal, I would target metal roofs especially, as well as high end home siding or trim, and commercial work.
