My first softwash Roof cleaning
Permalink

Hello everybody,

this weekend I tackled my first softwash roof job.  This was a last minute job from a realty company we service properties for.  I put together a gun per the forum's directions and it worked great, thank you.  I also had to make a 'mobile' softwash spray system because of the limited space and fences all over the property with no gates.  I will post some before and after pics, as well as one of my little softwash buggy.   This property has stood dormant for many years, so I used a 4% mix.  I needed to treat the second floor roof twice because of tannin stains.  We also washed the house itself and pressure washed the patio area.  In total it took me 10 hours with my wife helping me the second day for the surface cleaning and as a precaution (working on 2nd floor).  I appreciate all your help making this first job a total success.

Good work. That was a pretty decent sized and very dirty house. You have several good before and after photos from only your first job- especially those brick ones.

Raul, nice job! I didn't see it at first, but I can see you're wearing a safety harness on that roof! Smart move!

Did you pressure wash some of the nastier surfaces before soft washing them? I know a lot of guys will 'trim the lawn' with a pressure washer on truly nasty growth like you have in some spots here, and then soft wash as the final cleaning process. Also some good photos to show customers that letting these contaminates go unchecked will result in damage that will show after the cleaning job is completed. There are customers and websites that say these stains don't cause any damage, but the proof is in the photos here that they are wrong.

thank you guys. it was a good education. troy, we only used the pressure washer for the patio using a BE 20" surface cleaner. already have a couple of jobs lined up. this 'off season' for lawn care hasn't been much time off. tomorrow will be my first day off in 2 weeks....

Very impressive, Raul. Kudos for documenting the job well. A first job can be overwhelming enough as it is without it being as nasty as that house. You're off and running!
