Seeking advice on asphalt shingle roof
Permalink

Hey guys,

We have a 3500 sq ft asphalt shingle roof to clean. This is but one of many in this particular neighbourhood; all dirty. I know once we can effectively clean this one, it will lead to all the others. Have a look at the pics and advise.

I am thinking 3% solution and that's it. Anything I should be aware of with this type of roof or in general?

Really appreciate the help guys.

Paul

Looks real simple. They need new gutters and you should refer them to someone. Its a good roof to practice on.

Like Tim said, pretty easy one. 3% should be fine. My only suggestion is to make sure you have a ground guy ready to rinse the walls constantly. With those gutters being damaged away from the fasci  Some nasty brown roof mix runoff, will flow right down the side of the house. Be prepared to rinse it all. You might need to rinse some roof areas, if it continues to drip between the gutter and house, or else you will get a call back for streaking their house.

Paul, I totally agree with Tim and John. The roof treatment will be easy. The runoff onto the wall should be your biggest concern, so be prepared to do some rinsing.

It actually might be little bit easier if you would try to bridge those gaps between fascia and gutter with aluminum flashing. So, all of the run-offs would be contained in the gutter. And you could get a 12" roll of that flashing probably within $20 in any hardware stores. Flashing installation should be quite easy as well.
