I tried oxiwash on some gutters, didn't do much, I tried gutter zap and it cleaned up well. It may have been a temperature thing. I just got in another 5 gallon of the citrus gutter cleaner by absolute chemical which I prefer at this point. I just ordered a gallon of oxiwash today to try it on some oxidized vinyl and aluminum.
The citrus cleaner is d-limonene, a water-based solvent & terpene. Other than making orange scented cleaners, it is also used as a paint stripper. At proper strength, it can remove the paint, especially heavily oxidized paint--much faster & more effectively than water soluble degreasers like 2-butoxyethanol (butyl cleaners), sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide.
I stopped using the d-limonene gutter cleaner I had been using as it was difficult to manage proper dilution by my crew & resulted in paint removal. I am now using Oxi Wash, effectively.
Citrus cleaners, or degreasers, are made from the oil extracted from orange rind, i.e. d-limonene. Not saying that it is straight d-limonene. The cost on that is north of $40/gallon from a bulk chemical supplier, if available. I had been buying a 25% product & diluting, but even that was removing the paint, unfortunately very well!!!
I also tried using a sodium hydroxide degreaser, diluted, but that proved to be too strong as well.
Paul, there are several other surface cleaners we all use, and most of them are used separately from your bleach and Green Wash solution. Oxi Wash is one of those that is used in a pump up sprayer. Depending on the oxidation on the surface you are treating, will determine your mix ratio. You could use anywhere from a 10-1 mix to a 50-50.
We are developing cleaners that follow our Good Stewards business model in order to be a better company but also to create a difference between us and our competition. Oxi Wash is not the best gutter whitener on the market, but it is the best biodegradable, water based, low VOC oxidation remover on the market. Huge competitive advantages for the discerning customer that cares about such things.
AC How about oxidized vinyl siding? The challenge is always getting some but not all. We explain oxidation and the visual effect it will have, but it would be marvelous to "easily" remove consistently.

I gotcha. Will see how it performs here. Those pictures look promising!

Paul,
I have been using it between 1-to-1 and 5-to-1.
Noted! Thanks Jeff!

Oxi Wash completely removes oxidation from vinyl siding. You will need to brush to get an even result but we have also just treated and rinsed with a decent result at a 1/1 ratio. 1/2 does it very well with about 4 strokes of a soft truck wash brush.
