I've finally got a job where I need to purchase a water fed pole for the extended reach. There is a thread that went around back in February but thought I would start a newer one in hopes there is some more updated info.
A lot of the old post was about entry poles and the cost. I'm not so much concerned with the cost rather than function. Are there any poles (brands) that are superior to another....maybe I should ask what brand should I stay away from. I realize that may be a sensitive question to ask, especially if the manufacturers follow the board....so go ahead and PM me.
Unger sounds popular but there are so many to choose from I'd like to be a little knowledgable on them before buying. What distributor would be a good one to approach with questions....again, PM me if that seems a little sensitive.
Looking to buy a 30'-40' pole. Maybe interested in a used pole if a window washer is looking to upgrade or get rid of something.
I don't think its a sensitive question at all! I prefer Unger poles and Gardiner poles.
If you anticipate leaning the pole over at an angle - the lighter the better.
I have a 40' Gardiner carbon fiber pole that weighs only 7 pounds. When you go the route of fiberglass or aluminum, the weight goes up and you will get fatigued using them for even a short period of time.
Unger in my opinion is a second choice. Gardiner is like the cadillac of WFP (in my opinion).
