Have any of you guys used in tank heaters in your tanks to keep your mix at a warmer temp? I looked online and found an in tank heater that connects through the bung at the bottom, any thoughts? It's 110v so you'd need an inverter.
I've been told not to use tanks for chemicals that have the bottom or side outlets......the chemicals eventually eat away at the seals and will start leaking.
You've been advised correctly. I have bottom bungs on are my 300 gallon bulk storage tank and my 250 gallon. The 250 has been used only twice in the field. It's well documented that the bungs will eventually leak. We used the 250 for house wash mix on a large project we did. Getting back to the original post this heating unit might do more harm than good. I for one wouldn't use it.
Matt, I'am sure it will be getting a lot colder soon your way so try using F&C or Pixie Dust same thing in your mix it will heat up the mix by chemical reaction and perform better during the cold months. Hope this helps.
Yes AC I was thinking on using it to heat up the water for ch absorption. I know the bung seals fail after use but it takes a while for it to happen not to mention it's a great place to plumb your agitator through. Thanks for the pixie dust comment Eric I'm waiting to get a chance to try that out.
