We dined at and supported Chick-Fil-A today to support their CEO's right to his Christian beliefs, thoughts, and speach. Just because we do not agree with the lifestyle of a mere 1% of the American people and their behavior does NOT mean that we HATE them as people and human beings!!!!
We hate the sin, NOT the sinner! We pray for them daily!!

I could care less about the ethical/moral/philosophical aspects of leading an alternative lifestyle. This whole debacle and debate started when someone complained about $$$ that Cathay family was giving to certain organizations they support. That is the part that really chaps my rear!!!!! Don't we live in Amercia??? Can't this family give THEIR money to whatever organization they choose to support?????
Funny how the liberals preach tolerance and acceptance...except when they don't agree with you. Then you aren't allowed to have your own opinion.

My family dined at Chick-fil-a as well yesterday. Here is the lesson for everyone and listen GOOD!
In life you will have to make decisions that will be unpopular to a small minority that may be more aggressive and louder than the rest. You will know in your heart that this is the right decision. Others around you will tell you that you are getting ready to alienate part of your customer base / church / community / fill in the blank. They will try to say they are the voice of reason and they are wise. They will attack your right to make that decision. They will attack you as the decision maker. They will enlist forces seemingly bigger than you to broadcast their point of view and attack yours.
BUT STAND YOUR GROUND AND DO WHAT IS RIGHT AND YES YOU TOO WILL HAVE TO WAIT IN LINE 45 MINUTES FOR A CHICKEN SANDWICH!
Remember though Chick-fil-a was VICTORIOUSLY REWARDED for staying on course for their position by what is the silent minority of Christ Followers out there, you may not see that kind of reward when you make the tough calls until you see your reward in heaven. None the less it will be there.
STAY THE COURSE AND DO WHAT IS RIGHT ALWAYS!
God bless those who have the strength to stand for what is right.
I have a homosexual relative (who I pray for every day), so I know exactly what you mean. Although I have never referred to him as faggot or queer or anything derogatory, I have been called a homophobe on more than one occasion. I remind him that a "phobia" is a fear, and I ain't skeered!
One of my best fishin buddies was a lesbian and she hated "queers" Id ask her.. "But Marion I thought you are a lesbian?" she would explain, "ya but there is a difference." I love them all like Jesus did. Sin is sin. None is worse than the next. It all separates us from God. It all can be forgiven.
Well stated, one and all. There is no hate, but only prayerful intercession that God's ultimate plans for good He's made for those who chose to live that lifestyle (as well as for everyone else out there) will come to fruition. God has plans for each one of us, and they are always good plans. Plans for us to prosper and be fruitful with no plans to hurt us or cause us pain.
As a professional firefighter in a large department I work with several lesbians who make no bones about their chosen lifestyle. I have no hate in my heart for them and often place my life (literally) in their hands! Although I do not agree with the personal life they've chosen to live, as individuals, I've developed a strong friendship with them in our profession and I would not hesitate to risk my life in the line of duty to save theirs as much as I would any other fellow firefighter.
Although many from churches nationwide stood up on 8/1, it is my longing that the church body as a whole would wake up, arise, and realize just how powerful they are in Christ. There are so many other issues at hand today that need their influence.
Again, my hat is tipped to Mr. Cathy for answering honestly and standing firm in Christ for what he believes - following his moral compass come what may.
