So we had a pretty good week and I was pumped when I checked the weather for yesterday and seen that we were going to have a great day to clean. The day started out with a meeting from one of our leads last week that has 5 property's to clean, then rolled into two more estimates from yesterday, I was pumped I had already closed two deals from last week and I was feeling pretty good about the quotes I had just given. Now on to the exciting part. I met one of my new guys at the shop to get loaded up and go clean. I am going through everything explaining what it is we do and why, when I drop the hose into the drum and flip the switch to only hear gurgle, gurgle, as the pump is whinning higher and higher. I told my new guy pump probably is airlocked, this is how you fix it (nothing). As I am going through everything in my head eliminating issues I check to make sure hose is down in SH drum and realize the drum is EMPTY! Well now what do I do? It's Saturday, Univar is closed there is no way to go pick up the pallet I ordered last week. And I have not had any luck with purchasing from pool supply or big box retailers I always get the stuff that has set on the shelf for a year and wouldn't clean anything even if you poured it on straight (my first experience ever soft washing). Well I picked up the phone and text AC sure he was going to have some miracle up his sleeve. His response was Dan you need to run over to pool supply and pick up a 25 lb bucket of CH, yes CH. I looked over at that 100 LB bucket of CH my new guy was sitting on and thought there is no way I'm going to use that stuff after everything I have heard, I would rather be out the $200 something I paid for it. After debating for a few minutes, we had already spread the word in the subdivision where we should have been already that we were coming to show them SoftWashing, I couldn't very well not show up now. Well we tried it and all the way there my stomach was in knots (I'm sure my guy thought man this is one moody SOB, I don't think I said a word until we arrived).
IT WORKED! I had no issues with residue. We kept the windows wet and had no issues. The biggest issue was keeping the tank mixed, it settles pretty quick. I think since I am currently using the twin pump system I will set one to circulate while cleaning with the other. The home owner was very happy and we had about 14 cars come down and look, seven of them stopped and four took business cards. We also had someone from a close by townhome community stop and look and asked us to submitt a proposal for their community. It definitly paid off rather than not going and I ain't scared no more! Before and after pics coming, I ran out of mix and time so we will be heading back over to finish. I will post what we have now and then the full show later this week.
AC, Thank you again for coming through again!

Great to hear the SoftWash portion of your business is taking off!!!
Sounds like you were being tested that day, but you pulled through and prospered. Way to go.
Again, I am not far from you. If you need my help at all, please give me a call.... I do have a busy schedule, but I can always make arrangements to come up with a day or two notice.

That sounds great.... You just let me know your schedule, I can work around it and make mine fit.
I have been toying around with the idea of going with just CH. Glad to hear your report. I'm just wondering if one could set up a recirculating system to help keep it mixed.

You could buy a $59 3 GPM pump to just recirculate your mix, and have your "good" pump supply your mix to your surfaces to be cleaned.
Glad to hear your having some good experiences with the CH, I planned on having a CH reserve on the truck just incase something like this were to happen.

Rodney,
All of the SoftWash Systems equipment, Cradle Skid, Rogue and Sprite have built in recurculate valves.

Even those using SH should always have a kicker keg of CH for those long days that you might run out.
