I have a two story roof and house wash to do in the morning.  Supposed to be right at 32 degrees.  Will see how the Green Wash works. Worked great at 37 a few weeks back.

Doug,

You shouldn't have a problem cleaning. My biggest concern with the temperatures that cold is the water freezing around the house and creating slicks of ice. We had a few this year when the temperatures were about 35 in the morning while we were cleaning. The cleaning was obviously done on the northern side of the house where I'm sure the temperatures never came above 30. The water turned to ice within seconds on the concrete patio on that side of the house. Not only was it dangerous for my ground guy to walk on, but our ladder was set up on the same patio and now we had to contend with getting a 28 foot ladder down and off of a very, very slick patio.

Needless to say, incidents like that made me rethink how cold of a day I would attempt a cleaning. If the temps are well below freezing the night before and the daytime high is only going to be in the 30's or 40 degrees, we won't even attempt the cleaning. The northern side of these homes, which obviously is the dirtiest, doesn't ever seem to get above freezing under those conditions.

Not only is it dangerous for you and your workers, but you can really create a liability with a customer. They don't expect ice when they come home. It wasn't raining when they left and didn't rain while they were gone so there shouldn't be any ice around the house as far as they are concerned.

Brian

Good work brother!!
We have one tomorrow with a high of 56.
We have cleaned as low as 30 before, but the safety issues start to become really intense on residential jobs. Brian laid it out very well.
Under 40 hypothermia is your biggest enemy. if you have winds at 20mph on a 39f day, the wind chill can be as low as 20f
I highly recommend the use of Ski gear. wick-ing under-liners and poly shells. You can stay amazingly warm in the cold with the right gear. But if you get wet in that wind under 40, you can get in serious trouble.

It's great to be cleaning HOT OR COLD!!!!! However I prefer nice mild temps in the high 70"s to low 80's.

Temps. This much I know about temperatures and gutters. Have to watch the temps the night before and wind. Gutters freeze quicker and thaw slower. I compare it to bridges, freeze quicker. Not much help, just my 2 cents.

It's great to be cleaning in the cold with hot water! However I would prefer to stay in the truck where it is always warm.

did a couple of slate roofs in weather not nearly as cold with the SH and Green Wash and they took a lot of cleaning unlike some we did in warmer weather.
